Another year is almost over and have I accomplished everything I wanted to do this year? Nope! I really need a personal assistant! {I wish!!} Although I haven't blogged about them, I did manage to get lots of things made for the annual Christmas Boutique at my school. I planned on photographing each individual item, but time escaped and I didn't get that done, but I did take some "group" shots of some of the things I made. Here is one picture of some recipe card holders I made with the intention they be used for cookie swaps.
I actually drew this pattern for the pocket using SCAL software and cut them out with my Cricut. I drew the recipe cards, the Christmas cookies, and the Cookie Swap tags using Adobe Illustrator. I drew the tags sized perfectly to punch out with the Stampin' Up! small and large oval punches. I used Garden Green, Real Red, and Crumb Cake card stock, the red checked DSP is from the Build-A-Bear DSP pack, the ribbons are Real Red Satin and a couple from my stash. I used the Signo White Gel Pen to stitch around the edges and added buttons from Deck the Halls and Candy Cane Christmas button assortments. It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but I attached a large eyelet in the upper left corner and added a notebook ring so the card pocket could be hung inside a 3-ring binder style recipe book. The people that bought these from me also got a pdf e-mailed to them of the recipe cards.
I hope you had a beautiful Christmas and are looking forward to a wonderful new year ahead!
