My Inside-out Box

I've been making a variation of this little basket for years.  Recently, I gave it a little twist by turning the corners inside-out. You can see a post from a couple of years ago HERE and download the template and instructions for the original box.

To make this variation and get the inside pattern of the box to be on the outside triangular tabs, simply fold over each corner and fold to the outside of the box.  Huh!?  Don't worry, I will be posting a video on this technique to show you how easy it is.  I will also show how to make and attach the scalloped border in the video.

Rose Card

Today was the quarterly Stampin' Up! meeting with my upline, Lis Ljung.  As always, we had a great time sharing ideas, making swaps, visiting over lunch, and winning door prizes.  Here is my swap for today's meeting. I was very happy that it was one of the winning cards in the card contest. : )  I used the technique in the video tutorial that I posted the other day to make the rose (and 30 more for the card swap!).  Lots of cutting and punching to make 31 of these cards!  Hope you like it.

Stamp Set:  Well Scripted, Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel w/jumbo ink cartridge inked with Melon Mambo

Card Stock:  Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery

Ink:  Classic Melon Mambo

Ribbon:  Pretty In Pink 5/8" Satin

Adhesive:  Snail adhesive, Dimensionals

Other:  Mini Brad in Rose Red

Mom's 89th B-Day in MDS

Lots Can Happen When on Vacation

I tend to have a ton of stuff to do when I am on a break from work.  This week has been one of those weeks, but since it is vacation I thought I should do a few fun things.  I was stuck at home today because the termite guy was coming, so I got to work on my swaps for my meeting on Saturday.  I also got to do something I have been wanting to do for a very, very, very long time....make a tutorial video!  Since I was making 31 paper roses, I decided I should make a video of how I make them and share it with you.  Here is an incomplete card for my swap with a rose on it.  I will be attaching a Mother's Day stamp on a white scalloped oval to the lower right corner.  I hope you like the video and would appreciate any comments, but go easy on me since it's my first one!!  (Next time I will work on the lighting and making sure my sample is right-side up!)  Thanks for stopping by!

Exciting News! SU! Color Renovation

Wow! Stampin' Up! has spent the last two years coming up with a revised palette of colors.  Although I will certainly miss some of my old favorites, change is good.  I do love all the new colors and the revised color families.  I especially like that they have brought back some of the In Colors over the past year and now my all-time favorite pink, Pink Pirouette, is a staple!!  I also love Wild Wasabi and Riding Hood Red, so I am really happy to see those colors return.  Click HERE to see the new colors.  Click HERE to see the retiring colors.

Time to Post!

Well, hello there!  I cannot believe it's been so long since I've last posted.  I guess that's what happens when you're teaching a combination class...NO time!!  NO life!!  lol  I'm now on Easter vacation, so I thought I'd squeeze in a post even though I have a ton of other things I need to catch up on.  Ok, enough of my whining.  I have an Easter card to post.  I made this digital card with My Digital Studio and e-mailed it to my family and friends.  It's so super-easy to use My Digital Studio to design and make projects.  If you haven't tried digital paper crafting yet, what are you waiting for?  Hope you like the card!
