It is really a blessing to grow up in a neighborhood where all of the kids become lifelong friends. I am blessed to be from a neighborhood like that. In fact, most of our parents still live in the same neighborhood. Well, last Saturday one of our friends was married in a beautiful ceremony followed by an equally beautiful reception. All the neighborhood friends were there along with relatives, colleagues, and other friends made throughout life. This was a really special wedding because this is the first time either had been married (Judi is 51 and although I don't know Howard's age, he's about her age). They couldn't be more perfect for each other and we are all so happy for them! They are both involved in professions that serve and help others and two of the most sincere and kindest people you could ever hope to know. Judi is a reading specialist for a local school district and Howard is a radiologist for City of Hope, a renowned cancer research hospital. My sister joked that at least one of us married a doctor! Too funny!
Anyway, they did a really cool thing and asked that in lieu of gifts, donations be given to Habitat for Humanity, which is something they have both been involved with. They did accept cards for well wishes.
So of course, I had to make the card. I like simple, clean cards for weddings because I think they look very elegant and sophisticated. For this card I used SU! Whisper White cs for the card base and the layers. I used Cuttlebug embossing folders to emboss the first and second layers. I also used a rectangle Nestability die to cut and emboss the edge of the pindot layer. I stamped the monogram with my JustRite stamper and added a little crystal Stickles to the circle border. The inks I used were Sage Shadow and Baja Breeze. The monogram element and the pindot element are mounted with dimensionals. The white organdy ribbon is tied around the pindot layer.
