Technology!!

Well it seems that the links in my last post are not working correctly.  I did get an e-mail from Typepad yesterday...something about blah, blah, blah, not working correctly.  Did I really read it or pay attention to it???  Nope!  It just seemed like a lot of tech blabber to me.  They did say they were working on the problem.  That part I understood - the first time I read it. ;)  I figured, "they're working on the problem."  No problem it will be fixed in no time.  I tried to post that PDF last night with no luck and then again this morning in the last post with no luck.  I guess they haven't fixed the problem yet.  I have full faith they will though!!  I really like Typepad and since I've had my blog here (about 1-1/2 years) I haven't had any problems until this one.  :D

In the meantime, you can link to Mimi's site using her link on my sidebar under More Inspiration, if you'd like.  I would really suggest you do....can you say AWESOME new craft BUILDING?!!!  :D  Very blessed gal, that Mimi!!  Also, to e-mail me just copy and paste my address into an e-mail if you'd like the directions for the Card Folder.

Card Folder Instructions

Happy Friday everyone!  I should know better than to post something without instructions! ; )  I've received several requests for a template or directions on the card folder I made and posted a few days ago.  Mimi was the first to request the directions, so I just typed them up in an e-mail and sent them to her not really realizing so many of you would want them. You people are just so sweet!!!  So, I decided I should post the directions here.  I pasted the directions I typed for Mimi into a PDF complete with pictures so you can print it out, but for some reason Typepad is having some issues with their system and the document won't load!!  grrr  So, if you would like me to send you the PDF, please shoot an e-mail to me at sharonsrivera@aol.com and I will be most happy to send it to you.

I am REALLY EXCITED to finally talk about these huge clear stamp cases!!  I have been using these prototype cases to store my acrylic stamps since January and I LOVE them!!!

A Chemistry With Paper is introducing these GIANT clear stamp cases and allowing me to take PREORDERS for them NOW through Friday, June 27, 2008! 

They are soooo  cool...like a GIANT CD case.  They are big enough to hold the large clear acrylic stamp sets that have stamps too big to fit in regular CD cases.  Look how big it is compared to a normal CD case!  These new cases measure 10-1/2" tall and 7-1/2" wide on the outside.  The inside actual storage dimensions are 10-1/4" tall and 6-3/4" wide.  They fit perfectly on shelves too!  Shown in the picture is the huge All Year Bag Toppers set from ACWP...41 stamps in all and they fit perfectly in this case.  (Those bag topper background stamps are 4" wide!)  You could also store several small stamp sets in one of these babies...you know how stamp companies make sets that coordinate with each other..perfect storage for those!!  I also love them because I can pop them into my tote bag and not worry about my little stamps falling out and getting lost when I take them to classes, workshops, or crops.

If you have any questions about these cases, please contact me at the above e-mail address.  One question I thought of that some of you may have is, "Will the cases hold unmounted rubber?"  My answer to that is they are deep enough to hold the rubber, but not with any foam attached.  The cases are 1/8" deep, so I would not recommend them for rubber.

Card Folder

I'm so glad it's summer and I have time to just play with my stamps and papers!  Like most things I make, I just start playing without anything in mind and then the project just evolves into something.  So here is a little notecard holder.  I used all Stampin' Up! stamps, papers, ribbon for the handle, and embellishments.  The Wild Wasabe "ribbon" on the cards is really card stock stitched with the Signo Gel Pen.  I used a Velcro dot as a closure.

The photos below show the inside with the envelopes  and the cards...oops!...upside down in their pocket!  I noticed that when I was putting the watermark on the picture.  Oh well...you get the idea.   lol

Recipe Book

I was playing around making an envelope book and really had no idea what it would end up being.  One thing led to another and I ended up making it into a little recipe book with a bunch of pull-out cards to write recipes on.  I wanted to keep it sort of masculine looking just in case I end up giving it to one of my sons.

The papers and hardware are from Stampin' Up! and the stamps are from A Chemistry With Paper.  The "EAT" and "Drink and Be Merry" sentiments were made with my JustRite Monogram Stamper...You don't have to make monograms with it!  If you don't have one of these yet, it's really a must-have item.  I bound my book with a Bind-it-All.

It was a lot of fun making all the little pull outs and tabs.  I think the pull-out cards look like pumpkins, so when you see me making little pumpkin books you'll know where my inspirations came from!  lol

Stationery Box

I got my inspiration for this box from Lauren Meader.  I made mine a little different by not cutting the sides, but rather having them fold inward as seen in the photo of the box inside.  I made some 3" x 3" notecards to stick inside along with envelopes.

All papers, ribbon, and embellishments are from Stampin' Up!

The 4th is Next Week Already!

Can you believe it?!  I certainly hope summer does not blow by that fast! 

This is one of the other projects we made at the class I held on Saturday.  I love the All Year Bag Toppers set from A Chemistry With Paper .  This set has so many possibilities and really is a fun set to use.  It's not too late to order it and get it in time for the 4th!  Don't forget to check back as I have a few more ideas in the works using this set.

Little Tin Purse

I had a workshop for some friends from school this past Saturday and this was one of the projects.  The workshop was actually an auction item that our computer lab teacher won at our school's auction.  I was asked to offer some classes as auction items, so I just made up a couple of certificates for 3-hour classes for the recipient and five friends.  We made several projects and had a really fun time.  I still have one of these classes to hold for a parent that won the other certificate.

This little tin was 10 cents...yeah...10 cents!!  I bought a bunch of them after Christmas at Michaels.  The tin is a gift card holder with a Christmas design on the lid...screaming to be altered!

The computer lab teacher had recently purchased a Crop-a-dile from me and wanted to use it in her class, so we punched the holes in the tin with the Crop-a-dile, set eyelets in the flower center, and also on some of the other projects.
Materials used:
Tin and Black Polka Dot ribbon - Michaels
Retired designer paper, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock, black eyelet, 5 petal flower punch, retired smaller flower punch, Pretty In Pink grosgrain ribbon, and the stamp is from Friendship Blooms.

Happy Birthday - Cupcake Gift Card Holder

I really like this simple design for a gift card holder.  I'm not sure where it originated, but I've seen it on Splitcoast Stampers.

I mostly used Stampin' Up! products to make this card.
Groovy Guava, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White card stocks; Afternoon Tea designer paper; Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon; horizontal slot punch; word window punch; dimensionals; snail adhesive; and small corner rounder.  I also used a Sakura Gelly Roll glitter pen to add a sparkle to the flame and the to add some swirls to the frosting.  The square layers were punched with Marvy scalloped punches.
