Happy For You

I have finally caught up on my computer issues, taxes, etc. for the time being.  I still have more to do, but tonight I wanted to upload a card I made last week.  I scanned it rather than taking a picture of it, so there is some weird shadowing in the center of the card.  I used the Cuttlebug swirl embossing folder for the background on a light turquoise card with white on the inside.  I don't know where I got the card.  I sanded the embossed design to let the white show through.  I stamped "happy" from SU! in SU! white craft ink and "for you" in SU! Tempting Turquoise classic ink.  I used SU! Loves Me designer paper and whisper white cs.  The ribbon is from Costco and the heart lock and key charms are from Memory Makers.  The oval frame and eyelets are from SU! Hodgepodge Hardware in Pewter.

Lunch Tins

Since my home internet service was not working last night nor this morning (arg!!), I thought I would take a moment of my lunch break and post a picture of some of my papercrafting students.  In the fall, they decorated these lunch tins to use to hold all the cards they are making in the after school class.  I brought an assortment of SU! designer papers and let them choose their colors.  The monogram and flowers were cut from card stock with a Cricut.  I used the Cricut to cut four of each letter and flower, then they layered them together to make them thick, giving that chipboard look.   I think the girls did a great job on these!

I made this little mailbox sometime in early January when Target first got them in the Dollar Spot.  I bought all that was left at my Target and used more than half in an after school papercrafting class that I teach.  The kids loved decorating them.  This one was my sample.  I used all Stampin' Up! papers - Pixie Pink, Close to Cocoa, Pretty in Pink CS and Loves Me Designer papers.  SU! grosgrain ribbon in brown and pink and the striped ribbon is from a box of ribbon I bought at Costco.  I used the Swirl Cuttlebug embosing folder to emboss the front and back panels.  These are very quick to make and a lot of fun.

I have recently purchased all of the Cuttlebug A-2 embossing folders and some of the others....aren't these just the greatest!?  Anyway, I love the great "texturey" backgrounds they make.  Here is one I made for Valentine's Day.  I used the Stylized Flowers to emboss the background on SU! Kraft cs, then I swiped over the flowers lightly with my white craft ink pad.  The strip with "happy" is Close to Cocoa cs and happy is stamped with white craft ink, the flower is die cut with Sizzix from Pixie Pink cs.  The flower center is punched from SU! Loves Me Designer paper.  The flower and the flower center are both mounted with dimensionals.  I poked all the holes in the Close to Cocoa strip and the flower with the paper piercing tool from the SU! Stamper's Toolkit (if my sewing machine didn't have some pictures and other decor sitting on it right now, I would have just run it through the sewing machine).
